Alfa Romeo Evolution 1910 to 2026: The Car Renamed After Five Days
In April 2024 Alfa Romeo revealed a car called Milano. Five days later it was renamed Junior, because it is built in Poland and the Italian government objected to the name. That moment sits near the end of this Alfa Romeo evolution, 36 cars that begin with the 24 HP of 1910 in Milan and end with the 2026 Tonale. Alfa Romeo history is a racing story first. The early cars wore the letters A.L.F.A. until Nicola Romeo added his name, and the P2 won the first world championship for car makers in 1925. In the 1930s a young Enzo Ferrari ran Alfa's racing team, years before he built a car of his own. After the war Alfa learned to build fast family cars. The Giulia of 1962 was shaped in a wind tunnel, the 33 Stradale of 1967 is still on lists of the most beautiful cars ever made, and in 2023 Alfa brought the 33 Stradale name back for a car of only 33 examples. Which Alfa would you take home, the Giulia of 1962 or the Giulia Quadrifoglio of 2016?
